Chase Coward
He’s from Swift Current Saskatchewan, and he’s an incredibly hard worker. When he’s not on the ice he loves playing different sports like volleyball, baseball, basketball and badminton. He chose jersey number 1 after his favorite athlete, professional hockey player Landon Bow. Landon was a billet of Chase and his family and a played a formative role in his life. His favorite off-ice drill? Riding the bike because he can ride it to McDonalds and it still counts! If a professional hockey carreer doesn’t end up working out, he’d love to be a hockey trainer someday.

Lang Lee
Lang’s ping pong prowess is a growing legend within PHA, Lang’s long reach gives him a strong advantage and strikes fear into his opponents. Lang’s commitment to sticking with the process and quietly putting in hard work everyday has made a name for himself. Lang consistently gives everything he has in practice and has a passion and desire to continuously improve. Lang is thankful for PHA’s commitment to improving young men both on and off the ice.

Kirkland Mullen
Kirk is a player that loves to be on the ice everyday. He loves it because it helps him develop his game. He proudly wears a 4 on his jersey in honour of Morgan Rielly, who used to play for the Moose Jaw Warriors, where Kirk would watch and be inspired. His favourite subject is history and he’s a huge fan of the bench press when it’s time to work out. When he’s not on the ice, you’ll find him sports like lacrosse, volleyball and even football.

Lane DeMars
One of the first things you’ll notice about Lane is his infectious laugh. He always keeps things light and open with his teammates, joking and having fun in the dressing after games and practices, as well as road trips. Although Lane’s sense of humor is light, his dedication to hockey and improving everyday is not. Lane’s favorite off ice exercise is doing sprints, because it helps him continue to become faster on the ice and stay in game shape. His favorite on ice drill is an over-speed drill to improve his quickness and agility. What drew Lane to PHA was the aspect of forming life champions. He attributes the leadership curriculum to his performance on ice and just as importantly off the ice.

Ethan Peters
Trying to beat Ethan in anything is not advisable if you do not enjoy fierce competition, you might win the first time, but after that first time Ethan will line up against you everyday in practice until you do not beat Ethan anymore. Ethan relentless pursues being a champion not just on the ice but off it as well. Ethan is excited to be a PHA student athlete because of the atmosphere. He loves being on the ice and improving everyday. Ethan also emphasized that he loves how PHA focuses not only on hockey development but developing young men to be leaders and champions in everything they do.

Noah Schindel
One of Noah’s favourite parts of PHA is the Leadership class. He finds the curriculum engaging and challenging. Noah is passionate about becoming a better leader and is very interested in learning and reading on how to continue to improve. Noah is a hardnose player and loves battling, his favourite on ice drill is, in tight 1 on 1 battle drills. He loves playing hard and competing with his teammates. He also loves the comradery that forms from teammates competing and battling with each other. Noah loves other sports and when he isn’t playing hockey can be found competing in Baseball, Lacrosse, Volleyball and Basketball.

Caelan Fitzpatrick
Caelen “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick, has nestled into the PHA program nicely. He has expressed his love for being a PHA student athlete, and has enjoyed every minute of it. He loves the ice time and the opportunities to improve his skills on the ice, he loves the opportunity to train in the gym with PHA Strength and Conditioning Coach Andy Schmidt and develop a myriad of off ice skills in the other PHA classroom sessions. Caelen is thankful for his teammates and coaches that have helped this year be a fantastic one so far.

Benjamin Peterson
Ben would like to be a professional hockey player, but would also like to go to school for physiotherapy. Ben’s vocational aspirations help characterize him, Ben is always trying to serve and help others when he can. Being a servant leader is one of the things Ben has been learning about in PHA’s leadership class and he is actively trying to live that out. Ben like to push himself to be better, as evidenced by his favorite weight training exercise, the bench press. Ben likes the bench press not because he is good at it and it is easy, but because it is difficult. He recognizes that the only way to turn a weakness into a strength is to practice that weakness, and push yourself to improve.

Tanner Funk
Tanner says: if a hockey career is not in his future, he figures to be involved in, carpentry or realty. Judging by the amount of time he spends working on his hands: folks, this guy has broken twigs, broken ankles or broken hearts written in the stars! He is a big body, with a long reach and a good stride, who is beginning to understand his potential. Tanner has taken advantage of the opportunities he has to spend time improving his skills. On the average evening you can find Tanner at the rink in his own free time stick handling and working on his shot. Tanner loves being on the ice everyday and working out in the gym with Strength and Conditioning coach Andy Schmidt. Tanner also loves the dorm life at Caronport High School as well as all his dorm mates and teammates.

Owen Neubeker
Owen is a class act. He is the type of player you rarely have to correct. His hard work surpasses any of his shortcomings. Owen is a proud uncle; both Family and Team are important to him. His dream is to make it to the NHL, if this does not materialize, he hopes to be a mechanic one day.
Some of his favourite past times include: hanging out with the boys, the coaches, and playing hockey! He is also a die hard Montreal Canadiens fan, and a favourite player of his is, Brendan Gallagher. One of Neubs favourite on ice drills is: wakey wakey because “it’s a good flow drill and you always have to be paying attention!” If Owen is not training, in the gym or at the rink, he can be found eating (he rarely misses a meal), and a healthy diet is important to him. He is a machine in the gym as well; and is pretty, pretty, pretty, good at doing chin ups! If you happen to find Owen keeled over, don’t be afraid to give him a poke! He’s known to nap at the blink of an eye.

Evan Callaghan
Evan is one of our team captains at PHA, and rightfully so! Evan is a great character and has an excellent personality. He is a multi sport athlete, loves baseball, and is an avid hunter too. He is the type of player you look for as a teammate, moreover, as a friend. Evan has the ability to find success at whatever he puts his mind too. An attribute he endorses at Prairie Hockey Academy is that he is “captivated by the fact you get to play hockey every day!” Evan is detail orientated, he is reliable, caring, and he is the type to make it look ‘easy.’ However, don’t be fooled because he works as hard, and diligently, as they come.

Colton Aikens
Colton is a leader on and off the ice. He desires to use his skills to excel in whatever career I choose. If hockey doesn’t end up working out, he’d love to join his family’s farm and make a living there. He proudly wears number 15 because “when I look at this number it just seems right.” He’s a fan of the Edmonton Oilers and his favourite player is the one and only, Sidney Crosby. When asked why, Colton explains it’s the way Crosby approaches the everyday grind. His favourite hockey memory was back in peewee when my team won league championships and was the captain.

Chris Otterson
Chris is an ideal ‘team’ first player. He wears his ‘heart on his sleeve’ and brings that work boot/gloves and lunchbox mentality (speaking of lunch box—he is also a diehard—chicken finger fan)! Known around here as, ’Ottie’, he is very competitive by nature, but all in good fun. Chris was successful in PHA’s first ever Man tracker event held in Halkirk AB. He along with teammate Evan Callaghan were two of the only ones not caught by the Man Trackers! Some of Chris’s favourite drills are ‘battle’ drills . . . Go figure! Chris is also Bi-lingual coming to PHA from a French Immersion Program.

Hunter Weber
Hunter is a very mature and well spoken young man, when asked what the most captivating aspects of PHA are Hunter responded with, “how PHA builds leaders and creates life champions. I also enjoy the group of players and the environment, how everyone pushes you to be you’re best.” Hunter enjoys playing 1 on 1’s in practice because it offers the opportunity to work on defensive skills and positioning. Hunter would like to pursue a career as lawyer after his hockey career is finished.

Atley Calvert
Atley loves to score goals and has a nose for the net! His willingness to go to the tough areas and his compete are second to none. He is always looking for extra ice time and is often one of the last to leave the ice. Atley has been known to score some ‘highlite reel’ goals. Those who watch him regularly know they’re not ‘luck’ rather; it’s his consistent effort and hardworking demeanour paying dividends for him. If scoring 5 goals in a single game this season is not proof enough, he also hit 3 posts or crossbars during the same game! Those in attendance would not have been surprised had he scored 8!
Atley has been a team leader on the ice and in the room. His passion for the game is often witnessed watching WHL, or other bantam and midget levels of hockey. He’s not afraid to grab the marker and draw up plays or drills either. 17 is his favourite number. It happens to be the day he was born. A hockey superstition of his is: always tape his stick the same!
Away from the rink he is known as a lacrosse player; and enjoys science in the classroom especially looking at organisms. One day he may be a marine biologist.

Maximus Wanner
Maximus is a diehard Boston Bruins fan and we don’t let him live it down! He has a big shot and spends countless time after practice working on details of his game. He is a thoughtful and caring teammate who doesn’t mind catching up on an episode of Friends, unless he’s watching NHL Gamecentre. Let’s be honest, rarely is Max not watching a hockey game! His passion for the game extends beyond the ice, as witnessed by his ‘GM mode’ mindset. Future and ‘what-if’ trades, are normal banter around the water cooler, with Max. He wears the number 19 because of his Brother.

Morgan Wanner
Morgan is a hardworking, competitive goalie with an ability for the dramatic. It is not rare to witness him make a ‘jaw dropping’ desperation save. His second and third effort rarely go unnoticed.
Morgan is studious and if a career in hockey does not work out for him, he sees himself working in a trade, such as plumbing or construction. He has a inquisitive mind, is intelligent, and worth sitting down for a coffee with except he prefers tea!
Morgan is polite and a caring teammate. He is one of the first to pitch in and give a helping hand. He excels at multiple sports and enjoys baseball and basketball. He is a big Timberwolves and Gianni fan. Marc Andre Fleury is his favourite goalie and English is a top subject/class for him.

Ryley Gross
Ryley is a 15 year old, 1st year midget, who is really coming into his own this year at PHA. He is a reliable teammate, whether it’s practice or a game, who continues to exceed expectations. Ryley is a respectable young man with a ‘team’ first approach. When he is not competing on the ice or battling his next mathematical formula in the classroom, he finds time for volleyball and Family. His dedication is witnessed by his pregame rituals and preparation. He’s often found working on his hand/eye coordination, or getting his mind and body focused, and his heart beat ‘pumping’!
